Tell us about yourself! What makes you, “you”?

I am a Wife and a mother a loving sister and friend. I have spent most of my career serving and caring for others in the medical field as a nurse. Baking was another addition to transcend my love to others through baking.

Describe your business/services and then tell us about what brought you to creating this business and why you’re passionate about it.

Pound Cake Expressions brings offers pound cake in a variety of flavors and different serving options for your needs. I gave always love the work that goes into baking a pound cake. I love the smell that fills your home bringing everyone to gather around to grave a fresh hot slice. It was taught to me with love. It was served to me with love. So, our mission is to serve love, one slice at a time!

What goals do you have for your business in the future?

Our future goals consists of partnering in community projects. Obtaining a mobile stand to serve in the Toledo area

What is your proudest achievement?

My proudest achievement is never giving up, being able get back to my love of baking.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a business owner and how did you overcome it?

Taking a chance on yourself, believing that you can do it and just get started.

What advice would you give to a woman looking to start a business or get into a leadership role? Is there one thing that has helped you specifically?

Write the vision and make it plain, and execute. Having support from my mother and family has pushed me to keep going.

What made you want to join HerHub?

I love the it for women, by women. I love the sisterhood it brings.

Why do you feel it’s important to collaborate and empower other women?

In a world where as a woman, you feel like it’s all on you sometimes it’s great to have someone who looks like you, to push you and cheer you on.
Why If you could recommend one resource (book, podcast, quote, website, etc.) that has helped you in life or in business, what would it be and why? 
Brene Brown. Daring Greatly. Being able to get over the fear of putting yourself out there to be vulnerable, really gave me the push I needed.
