Jamie is a one-woman show who provides services related to permanent makeup/and eyebrow care!

Tell us about yourself! What makes you, “you”?

I am a 28 year old entrepreneur who was born and raised in the south end of Toledo to a middle-class family. I am one of 3 girls. I’ve been building my brand and business from the ground up since 2018 and have (in my opinion) become quite successful doing so. I am a Microblading and permanent makeup artist who has been chosen as Best of Toledo 2022, and two times nominated. I am a woman who has endured the best and also the worst of times. I struggled as a business owner with my two young children facing the troubles that single mothers do. Sacrificing my early twenties ensuring that my babies never go without. Through trials and triumphs I have overcome all obstacles thrown my way, and this is what makes me the strong business owner I am today.. I love public speaking and advocating for women who face the similar battles I’ve fought through. I am a one woman show and I am proud of who I’ve become today

Describe your business/services and then tell us about what brought you to creating this business and why you’re passionate about it.

I am an Eyebrow threading specialist. I am a licensed cosmetologist as well. I offer threading, Microblading, tint/lamination, and lip blushing services. I love relating to women through beauty and confidence. I love spreading woman owned tips and secrets to success.

What goals do you have for your business in the future?

To eventually graduate from salon suite rent and have my own salon front some day.

What is your proudest achievement?

Career wise, Winning Best of Toledo 2022 and investing into attending the World PMU Conference in Las Vegas. Personal wise, abandoning old habits and prospering into the positive woman I am today.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a business owner and how did you overcome it?

Covid 19 on top of becoming a single mother. I wasn’t making nearly enough to keep my family afloat. I stopped making excuses and opened up all the doors of my cosmetology degree, offering services that weren’t my favorite and adopting low ticket services, just to make ends meet.

What advice would you give to a woman looking to start a business or get into a leadership role? Is there one thing that has helped you specifically?

Confidence. Don’t let anyone tell you how you have to look or act in this industry. If you want to be the best, wake up and show up every single day with that idea. Even when you’re still learning.. fake it til you make it. Until one day you finally have.

My good friend Rebecca Bennet, and my passion for the women and our all one million responsibilities of this life.

Why do you feel it’s important to collaborate and empower other women?

We all have something unique to offer. We are more powerful together.
